A-Plant Opens New Training Locations and Launches Vehicle Marshalling Course


A-Plant, one of the leading equipment hire companies in the UK has expanded its Training offering by opening three more Training Centres based at its depots in Milton Keynes, Norwich and Watford to complement its existing training centres within the company.

As well as new locations A-Plant has also launched a new course in Vehicle Marshalling. Any injury caused by a moving vehicle is likely to be serious, and every year a significant number of people are killed by accidents involving vehicles in the workplace, and many more people injured. A-Plant has launched the new course for its customer’s employees who are appointed to control the movement of vehicles and plant at work.also delivering training course at customer sites, recognising that this can often be the most effective way of meeting their training needs.

A 2012 report published by the Health & Safety Executive on vehicle accidents stated that “20 workers suffered a fatal workplace vehicle injury in 2011/12. This was around an eighth (12%) of the total number of fatal injuries to workers, whereas vehicle injuries accounted for only 2% of non-fatal injuries.”

The half-day Vehicle Marshalling Course consists of a pre-course question session, an associated knowledge session for the safe operation of the machine types, and Health & Safety regulations – namely PUWER, LOLER, HSE signals and signs. Upon completion of the course, candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of current legislation, Health & Safety and hazards related to vehicle and plant movements.
