Aberdeen access rental company takes more Spiderlifts

Gary Rose and Stuart McKenzie of Rose Access Solutions.

Rose Access Solutions, the Aberdeen-based specialist in powered access rental, has placed further orders for Teupen Leo tracked Spiderlifts with Ranger Equipment, Teupen’s UK and Ireland distributor.

Launched in April this year, the company is adding two Leo 18GT ‘facelift’ machines to its growing fleet which already includes five Teupen Spiderlifts.

The 18 m working height platform is one of the first in the Leo series to be revamped with Teupen’s ‘facelift’ enhancements aimed at reinforcing the German manufacturer’s lead in tracked platform design. Further raising the bar in ease-of-use, efficiency and reliability, the improvements include self-levelling stabilisers, remote control drive, and a low maintenance electrostatic dipped finish.

This latest deal signals the integral role of Teupen engineering backed by Ranger’s service in Rose Access’ plans for growth as it builds its rental offering around high specification machines, expert consultation on access applications and high service levels.

Rose Access purchased three Leo13GTs (12.8 m w/h) when it launched earlier this year, acquiring a Leo 23GT (23 m w/h) and Leo30T (30 m w/h) shortly after.

Although Rose Access as a company is new, owner Gary Rose has over 20 years experience in access rental. He has previously held senior positions in sales and fleet management with leading hire groups, HSS and Nationwide Access.

He said: “We carried out considerable research into tracked access platform designs before investing in our fleet. Teupen machines clearly provided the quality, innovation and functionality that are the trade mark of a German manufacturer. We were also impressed with Ranger Equipment’s high level of support and back-up service which had a major influence on our decision process.”

Rose Access is rapidly building a reputation for providing specialist access solutions to the facilities management sector including shopping centres, the oil & gas sector, renewable energy and utilities sites. It prides itself on offering specialist consultation and technically advanced platforms to overcome the challenges of working in difficult interior and exterior areas and sensitive environments.

As well as Teupen SpiderliftsR, the company rents specialist booms and scissor lifts as well as providing IPAF operator training courses, to further heighten the importance to customers of being fully qualified.

Gary Rose said: “We are educating customers familiar with more conventional access platforms about the versatility of the Leo machines. With their narrow tracked chassis, low surface loads and low point loadings, Leo tracked machines can do everything a wheeled boom does and much more besides.”

Looking forward to delivery of his ‘new generation’ Leo 18GTs, Gary added: “We really like the new features on the updated Leos and what they offer to our local and regional customers. The one-touch, self-levelling jack leg system and remote control wander leads, in particular, are a big advantage to our customers in terms of ease of use and efficiency.”

Ranger Equipment’s MD, Steve Hadfield, said: “We are committed as a supplier to growing long term relationships with customers, working closely with them to ensure Teupen reliability and innovation as well as our service support are a constant in their success.”
