Speedy places large order for gensets

SDMO Energy, the UK division of the French generator manufacturer SDMO Industries, has confirmed an order for a fleet of 32 generators from Speedy.

This initial order is for 32 professional rental specification generating sets ranging from 80 to 500 kVA, powered by either a John Deere or Volvo diesel engine. Each generator is equipped with a 3-way fuel valve for an external tank with a heavy duty air filtration system for use in harsh environments, such as demolition sites and quarries.

The power is provided by the latest Leroy Somer AREP alternators and the fuel tanks are fully bunded, with leakage detection, making them environmentally safe. The complete unit is housed in a weather-proof Zintec treated enclosure with whisper-quiet noise levels. Advanced control and management is handled via either a Telys or Nexys controller.

“We took a delegation of Speedy’s power generation experts to visit our manufacturing factory in Brest, France, so they could view our production processes first hand,” explained Clive Dix, the SDMO Energy general manager. “They were all impressed with our facilities, remarking on how we have successfully combined a rigorous production process with a unique flexibility to make sets to individual requirements”, added Clive.

“We work very closely with all our rental clients to ensure that we are always abreast with the changing demands of the rental markets, continued Clive, “therefore we listened very carefully to Speedy’s experts in order that we produced a line of sets that are completely in line with their customers’ requirements”.

The sets are currently in production and will be shipped to Speedy within the next few weeks, ready for distribution throughout by Speedy’s Power division in both the UK and overseas.
