A-Plant Make Massive Investment in 300+ Access Platforms

A-PlantA-Plant has continued its significant investment in brand new access equipment by taking delivery of a further 300+ powered access and low level access machines manufactured by Power Towers and Niftylift, the majority of which are specifically designed to offer an environmentally friendly solution to working at height. This latest investment is valued at around £2 million.

A total of 284 low level access machines have been purchased from Power Towers and the bulk of the order comprises the Nano and the Pecolift models. The push-around Nano offers a working height of 4.5m whilst minimising the working footprint, giving the operator more room to work in confined spacessuch as Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) work, busy retail spot, simple refitting work, new construction or maintenance.

The Pecolift is a recently launched model and is battery, power and oil free. Elevated by simply and easily rotating a handle, the lift mechanism glides the operator up to full 3.5m working height in just 11 seconds. With no batteries and no hydraulic oil, it is environmentally friendly with a tiny footprint and provides a mechanical solution that doesn’t involve erecting, unfolding or climbing.

A-Plant has also purchased a number of Power Towers’ Ecolift model which utilises the same technology and power system as the Pecolift, but, at 4.2m, provides almost a metre extra in working height.

A-Plant’s order with Niftylift covers a range of models, including Electric Booms from 34’-45’, Bi-Fuel Booms, Trailer Mounted Booms and 80’ Diesel Articulated Booms. The majority of the order is for the Niftylift Height Rider 12N Bi-Fuel model which is designed to give maximum reach performance from the lightest, most compact base possible. With an overall weight of just 3.5 tonnes, it offers low cost transportation and the Bi-Fuel option allows the boom lift to work for extended periods inside and outside.

A-Plant’s Regional Managing Director Paul Dennis said:

“This year alone we have spent more than £14 million on new access equipment to ensure our customers have the equipment they need, when they need it. More and more of our customers are demanding eco-friendly equipment such as power and hydraulic oil free platforms, or the utilisation of bi-fuel on larger equipment, so the investment with Power Towers and Niftylift is important for us as it offers our customers a wider range of access solutions. All of the new models have now been delivered throughout our Service Centre network.”
